Fast, Easy and Delicious Vegetarian Recipe:  EGG BURGER!

Who says that burgers always have to have meat in them?  You can make delicious and healthy burgers without meat at all.  You can use the same hamburger bun and put all the same ingredients, except replace the meat patty with eggs!

Ingredients to make your vegetarian Egg Burger:

Egg

Mayonnaise

Sliced Lettuce

Sliced tomatoes

Sliced cheese

Ketchup and mustard

Procedure to make your vegetarian Egg Burger:

1.      First cook the egg.  You can scramble the egg, but if you want the egg to be in one piece, here’s an easier way to do it.  Break the egg directly into a heated pan with oil (or butter).  Then use your spatula to gently break the egg yolk.  Season with salt.  When your egg is starting to turn solid, flip it over using your spatula then cook the other side.  Set the cooked egg aside.

2.      Now it’s time to assemble the burger.  Spread mayonnaise on a hamburger bun.  Then put the lettuce leaves, sliced tomatoes, the cooked egg and sliced cheese. Put ketchup and mustard, and place the other top half of the bun.

3.      Your egg burger is done!   Serve immediately.

Prawn Recipe

Prawn recipes are a favorite with a wide range of people hailing from different countries. Sea food is nutritious as well as tasty. Great care has to be taken while cleaning the prawns. After removing the thick outer shell, use a knife to make a slit down the middle of the curved tail and pull out the dark colored vein. After removing the vein, rinse well the prawns and drain them. While cooking prawns, ensure that the prawns are not over-cooked which will otherwise make the prawns tough and flavorless. When a prawn recipe is done, the prawns will turn orange in color.

I am going to illustrate the preparatory steps of ‘Prawn Masala Recipe’, a tasty as well as nutritious recipe for kids as well as elders.

To make 7 grand servings, you will need:

Prawns/Shrimps) – 1 lb / 450g(cleaned)
Onion – 1 cup(chopped)
Tomato – 1/2 cup(finely chopped)
Green chillies – 2 nos(finely chopped)
Ginger-garlic paste – 1 tbsp
Chilly powder – 1 1/2 tbsp
Cumin(Jeerakam) powder – 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder – 1/2 tbsp
Turmeric powder – 1 tsp
Garam masala – A pinch
Coriander leaves – for garnishing
Curry leaves – Few
Oil – 1/2 cup
Salt – As reqd
Water – As reqd

Preparation Method of Prawn Recipe:

1)Marinate prawns with the powders(except garam masala), salt and a bit of ginger garlic paste for 1/2 an hour.

2)Heat oil in a pan.

3)Add curry leaves and the marinated shrimps.

4)Fry till the shrimps turn dark brown.(well fried – but less crispy) Keep aside the fried shrimps.

5)In the same pan with the left oil add onions, curry leaves, green chillies and ginger-garlic paste.

6)When the onions turn translucent, add chopped tomato.

7)When it becomes a little pulpy, add the fried prawns.

8)Add 1 cup of water(add salt if required) and boil till the prawn is well mixed with gravy.

9)Switch off flame once the gravy is thick.

10)Garnish with coriander leaves. Prawn masala recipe, a yummy as well as nutritious recipe, is ready.

Pasta and Cheese Recipe

Why use macaroni and cheese from that rectangular box when you can prepare this Pasta and Cheese recipe. This is a quick and easy recipe. If your kids like macaroni and cheese made from the box, they will love this Pasta and Cheese recipe. Maybe your kids would like to help you prepare this Pasta and Cheese recipe.

Pasta and Cheese Recipe Ingredients:

2 Cups Pasta Noodles, Cooked

4 Tablespoons Butter or Margarine

2 Tablespoons Flour

1 Cup Milk

2 1/2 Cups Shredded Cheese, Cheddar, American or Your Favorite Cheese

Directions for Pasta and Cheese Recipe :

Place the butter or margarine in a bowl and heat in the microwave until melted. Add the flour and milk and mix well. Place the bowl back in micro wave and heat for two to three minutes. Add the shredded cheese to the mixture. Mix well. Add the cooked noodles and again mix well. Grease an eight by eight or larger baking dish. Pour the mixture into the baking dish. Bake at 350 for about 25 to 30 minutes.

Homemade Pasta Noodles Recipe Ingredients:

1 ½ Cups Flour

2 Egg Yolks

1 Egg

1 Teaspoon Salt

¼ Cup Water

Directions for Homemade Pasta Noodles Recipe:

Mix together all the ingredients. Add more water or more flour if necessary. Knead the dough. Divide it into three or four parts. Roll the dough out on a floured board. Roll to paper thin. Cut the dough into ¼ inch strips. Cut strips into 2 inch lengths. Let noodles completely dry for three to four hours.

Crock Pot White Chili Recipe

I’ve been cooking for my family for over 25 years. A husband,  three kids and all the other stuff that consumes our time generally leaves no time for healthy cooking. This White Chili recipe takes all the fuss out of preparing a tasty yet healthy recipe for your family.  Our crock pot gets a work out and this is one of our favorite recipes/

This healthy recipe for single or busy moms works well because there are very few ingredients and virtually no work. These ingredients are staples in many homes. Add them to your next shopping list so they will be on hand when you need to prepare a simple healthy dinner for your family.

Ingredients you will need:

                2 lbs cooked boneless, skinless chicken breast

36 oz of Great Northern beans

16 oz jar of your favorite chunky salsa (mild or hot is up to you)

                8 oz of shredded Monterey Jack cheese.

                2 teaspoons of cumin

Mix all ingredients in your crock pot. Cook on low for 2 hours or high for 1 hour. This simple healthy dinner can also be cooked on the stovetop. Watch carefully and add a little water if needed. Serves 8. Calories per serving about 514.

Some tips for this simple healthy dinner:

Use leftover chicken that you skin and debone. If you don’t have 2 lbs leftover from a meal, store what you have in the freezer and add to it every time you have leftovers until you accumulate enough.

Use precooked frozen chicken breasts in place of raw ones you have to cook first.

Use canned chicken breast meat.

Keep packages of Monterey Jack cheese in the freezer so they will be available when you decide to make this at the last minute.

Use low fat cheese to reduce calories even more.

 

Creole Fish Recipe

Things You’ll Need:

3/4 lb white fish
1/2 of one small onion
1/2 of one green pepper
8 oz tomato sauce
1 tsp chili powder
salt and pepper

Step1 Thaw the fish first if it is frozen. Rinse the fish and pat dry. Preheat oven to 350 F.

Step2 Place the fish in a 9x9x2 baking pan (or whatever)sprayed with cooking spray or lined with foil. Chop onion and green pepper as fine as possible and place in small bowl. Add  tomato sauce, chili powder, salt and pepper to the bowl with the onion and pepper.

Step3 Pour pepper mixture over fish.

Step4 Cover the pan with foil and bake until the fish is no longer transparent and flakes easily. Time will vary depending on the thickness of the fish. Mine took about 20 minutes.

Red Pepper And Olive Rolls Recipe

INGREDIENTS

   * 2 tsp. olive oil

   * 1/4 cup chopped onion

   * 1 1/2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil

   * 1/2 tsp. dried oregano

   * 1/4 tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

   * 1 small can (4 oz) chopped black olives, drained

   * 3/4 cup bottled roasted red bell peppers, drained and chopped

   * 2 tsp. balsamic vinegar

   * salt to taste

   * 1 loaf (1 pound) frozen bread dough, white or wheat, thawed

   * 1/4 cup fresh grated parmesan cheese

DIRECTIONS

Heat the olive oil in a non-stick skillet. Saute the onions for about 3 minutes or until clear. Add the basil, oregano, and red pepper flakes. Mix well and continue cooking for another minute. Take off from the stove top. Add the olives along with roasted red bell peppers, balsamic vinegar and salt. Stir while cooking and reserve afterwards.

Lightly flour a working surface and place the thawed dough. Roll the dough into a 9 x 12-inch rectangle. Ladle the olive mixture on top and leave about half inch of space on the edges. Use 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese to sprinkle all over. Pull up the dough rolling it up lengthwise. Close the ends by pinching. Slice into a dozen pieces with about an inch width.

Arrange the rolls onto a non-stick cooking spray coated baking sheet. Use the remaining oil to brush over the rolls and use a plastic wrap as cover. Leave it to double for half hour.

Set the oven to preheat settings of 325 degrees F.

Roll out the rolls and sprinkle with the leftover Parmesan cheese. Set it into the oven and bake for about 25 minutes or until golden brown in color. Serve while warm or cool to room temperature.

When I first received this recipe from my cousin I never thought I will cook it because for me it doesn’t sound that delicious…but today I’ll tell you what happened when he asked me to do it for him. I ate more than him because it was simply marvelous.
